Cradle To Cradle®

Shaw has been actively engaged in Cradle to Cradle design for more than 20 years, introducing the first Cradle to Cradle Certified™ flooring product in 1999.

Today, almost 90% of the products we manufacture are Cradle to Cradle Certified™ having been assessed for material health, product circularity, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship and social fairness.

Material Health

Our products are designed for people and the planet.

The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Products Program ensures our products are made from ingredients the standard deems safe and healthy.

Product Circularity

We search for new uses for materials historically seen as waste.

The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Products Program requires a product to use recycled content AND be designed to be recyclable.


 

Renewable Energy & Carbon Management

We minimize our use of energy and manufacture our products using clean, renewable energy when possible -- lowering the carbon footprint of our operations.  

As a result, we've reduced our carbon footprint by more than 50% since 2010.
