April 28, 2014 - Impeccably designed home features more than 15 Shaw Floors products.

Shaw Industries

Shaw Floors is the exclusive flooring provider and also a sponsor of the HGTV® Smart Home Giveaway 2014, which kicked off April 15. Shaw, which has been the HGTV Smart Home flooring partner since 2008, provided more than 15 engineered hardwood, carpet, area rugs, and tile products for this year’s home located in the Green Hills area of Nashville, Tenn.

The English Cottage style HGTV Smart Home 2014, which emphasizes energy-saving features and green living along with the latest developments in home technology, includes:

  • Epic Hardwood in Smart Style, color Balance. This hickory engineered hardwood product is Cradle to Cradle Silver Certified® and is made with EnviroCore, Shaw’s high-density core board made from recycled post-industrial wood fiber. Using approximately 50 percent less newly harvested wood than conventional 3/8” engineered flooring, Epic is not only more environmentally friendly but harder, denser, tougher, and more dimensionally stable than many other engineered or solid hardwood products.
  • Caress by Shaw carpet in style Cashmere II, and color Alaskan Musk. The Caress by Shaw collection features Anso® nylon, which offers soft texture, beautiful colors and unique styling while meeting residential performance demands. In addition to offering unmatched softness, the Caress carpet features Shaw’s patented R2X® stain and soil resistance treatment to help preserve the original look and feel of the carpet. Additionally, the carpet is Cradle to Cradle Silver Certified® and can be recycled back into carpet at the end of its life.
  • Mosaic accent tile from the Boca collection, in basketweave and hexagonpatterns along with a corresponding pencil liner trim. Boca is a natural stone mosaic tile available in 12”x12” sheets consisting of five tile shapes/patterns: 5/8” microblock, brick, linear, hexagon and basketweave. Each plays into the popular griege (grey/beige) color trend. The collection includes 2”x12” chair rails and 1”x12” pencil liners in four complementary colors.

“The HGTV Smart Home showcases Shaw’s wide variety of flooring and accent tile collections in an impeccably designed home,” said Heather Yamada, Shaw Floors director of consumer marketing and merchandising. “Not only does one winner get to experience the warmth and comforts of home that our products help create, but the home provides inspiration for millions of homeowners who tour the home virtually via HGTV’s television broadcasts and its website.”

The HGTV Smart Home continues to carry on a tradition of unique viewer interaction and architectural and design showmanship that began with the HGTV Green Home in 2008. Conceived by P. SHEA | DESIGN and constructed by Carbine & Associates, the HGTV Smart Home 2014 is convenient to shopping and outdoor recreation and lies just 15 minutes south of downtown Nashville, a lively community known worldwide for its talented musicians and country music heritage.
