Value in Partnership

Shaw Flooring Network takes a closer look at how retailers impact the industry and enhance the lives in their local communities.

If floors could talk, what would they say? Would they tell the story of a child’s first birthday party? Or the story of the same child’s high school graduation party? Would they convey the love, smile, and laughter they’ve seen over the years? We would like to think so. The saying, “life happens on floors,” is no secret in this industry. We all know that some of life’s most beautiful and important moments happen in the comfort of the home, on our floors. But, as we tell this narrative over and over, we neglect to talk about what happens before the floor is installed to make those moments possible. The preface to a stunning floor. The beginning of making a home, feel like home. And that is the story of the retailer.

So much of the work of a new floor happens before the actual installation even begins, and this work happens at a consumers’ local retailer. Retailers are responsible for facilitating the entire buying journey from beginning to end with the help of their team. Retailers ensure that the consumer gets a floor that not only looks great but also meets their personal needs and adheres to their budget.

At Shaw, we not only recognize the importance of the retailer, we value it. No matter the size and location of the retailer, we see the significance they bring to the industry and their communities. In fact, most retailers are small enough to move with agility and speed, making things happen for homeowners in their communities. Retailers are entrepreneurs, taking the risks and carrying the responsibility for all those that work with them. Without them, the flooring industry wouldn't be able to thrive. We salute them, we support them, and we will continue to advocate for them and the value they bring to our communities.

At our recent Shaw Flooring Network (SFN) Convention, we set out to show and celebrate the incredible impact retailers have on their communities. See flooring retailers in action, creating a better future for their customers and communities in this video:
