It is instantly clear when you visit St. Jude that it is a place of abundant creativity and considerable innovation. The doctors, nurses and other staff are engaged and excited about their work. What you see when you visit St. Jude is indeed almost magical. Except that it isn’t magic. It is some of the most important scientific research benefitting not only the patients at St. Jude, but kids with cancer around the world. At Shaw, we identify with work based in research, innovation and creativity that plays a larger role in the world.

Shaw’s support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is comprehensive and multifaceted. The partnership includes sponsorship of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway; a co-branded carpet cushion; a retailer promotion called “Give a Little, Change a Lot.”; and a co-branded carpet tile collection named the Butterfly Effect. Shaw associates and customers also support St. Jude in myriad other ways including raising funds and running in the annual St. Jude Memphis Marathon.

All told, the partnership has directly raised more than $17 million for the kids of St. Jude.

Shaw has a long-standing and extensive partnership with the United Way, our primary local giving partner. As the largest manufacturing employer in Georgia, with more than half of our associates based in the state, Shaw believes strongly in supporting the United Way’s mission to “improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good.” Our associates support their local United Way by serving in leadership roles as well as in program administration. In 2021, Shaw and our associates donated almost $2.5 million to United Way.

Since 2019, COREtec has partnered with Homes For Our Troops® (HFOT) – a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 veterans. COREtec is the exclusive flooring provider for the homes developed for these wounded Veterans. Since 2004, HFOT has built more than 300 specially adapted homes nationwide. The organization also offers pro-bono financial planning to all home recipients to ensure their success as a homeowner and a peer mentoring program consisting of veterans and spouses in the HFOT program.
